TIMELESS AND MODERN DENVER MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY

I’ve always believed that the universe has a way of guiding people who are meant to know each other together. Whether it’s by being introduced by a mutual friend, having our children be placed in the same classroom, on the same sports team or simply by someone choosing me to be their photographer after feeling a connection to my work, I’ve been so fortunate to have met and become friends with the most wonderful people in my lifetime. I’m especially grateful when I’m one of the few people that are invited in to share important moments in their lives, like a pregnancy, newborn baby or milestone session for my clients. These are truly once in a lifetime experiences for families and I’m honored to be a part of their journey through parenthood. The trust and connection that is essential between the people I photograph and myself is what allows me to create honest, emotive images and deep down I know that wouldn’t be possible if I wasn’t working with the most genuinely amazing humans.

I feel so fortunate that Sarah found my work on Google and reached out for her maternity session. She brought her sweet mom with her to my studio and it was so lovely to have her there and learn about their family that day. I’m completely obsessed with how this session turned out. From the soft light and the minimalistic studio to the gorgeous flowing dresses and Sarah’s perfect hair and makeup, everything came together to create simple, clean images with a focus mama and her connection to her precious baby growing away inside of her. A mentor of mine recently gave me the loveliest compliment when he said that my images are both timeless and modern - and I think this session is the perfect example of what I work so hard to create. FIRST LOOK AT BABY’S 1ST BIRTHDAY SESSION

This sweet family recently brought their little girl in for her 1st birthday session! I always love when people include their dogs in their sessions with them but this family stepped it up a notch by showing up with their gorgeous Golden Doodle in a matching bow tie! Perfect, traditional portraits that include wiggly babies and dogs aren’t exactly the easiest thing to capture so I was so thrilled when I got this adorable image with both the baby and her dog looking at me and smiling!

I have so many breathtaking images from this day - I can’t wait to show the world the rest of my favorites from the precious milestone session!

A LOOK BEHIND THE SCENES AT A STUDIO MATERNITY SESSION

I had the most gorgeous maternity session earlier this week and my client brought her amazing mom along with her. Not only was it so special to have her there to help and to witness the special bond that she and her daughter have, she was kind enough to surprise me with some behind the scenes images from the session! It’s so rare that I get to see images of myself working and I love having this little glimpse at what my client’s family sees when I’m photographing their loved ones!

I don’t usually post sneak peeks from sessions but in this case I couldn’t help wanting to share what I was seeing through my lens while my client’s mom was taking these pictures. This session was so spectacular and I can’t wait to share the rest of this stunning mama’s gallery!

STUNNING LIFESTYLE NEWBORN SESSION

This session. I’m not even sure I have the words to describe how much I adore this lovely family and the images we created together. I tell my clients that I strive to create the same images for them that I would want for my own family and I am overjoyed with how this gallery turned out. My hope is to tell the story of this beautiful time in your lives so that when your family looks back on these photos generations from now they will see all of the sweet, fleeting details and moments filled with love. These images were taken almost a month ago and last night this gorgeous boy’s mama sent me a current photo of him so I could see how much he’s changed. Spoiler alert - he’s only getting cuter! She told me how happy she was that we captured him “as a newbie”! Because this family is a member of The First Year Collective, I get to see how this little one grows and document his milestones through his first birthday!

The stunning natural light, minimalist furnishings and open, airy feeling in my studio at StudioOne all worked together to bring my vision for this family to life.

For as long as I can remember I’ve been enchanted by the seasons - especially fall. The spectacular colors of the leaves changing has always amazed me. I think part of my wonder lies in growing up by the ocean where you don’t really notice a change in the season. The water is always blue, the trees are always green and the flowers are always in bloom. I’ve lived in Colorado for over 15 years now and I’m still awestruck when fall rolls around. It feels like the most fleeting season as the colors emerge and seem to leave as quickly as they came. It’s also one of the busiest seasons as kids head back to school, families start to prepare for the holidays and many are ready for updated portraits to share with friends and family. Family sessions during this time are such a beautiful way to slow yourself down and spend some time together before the chill of winter sets in.

I was so happy to photograph this beautiful Denver family’s portrait session at a private little spot off the beaten path in Littleton, Colorado last fall. CELEBRATING HAZELY BEING 1

Beautiful Hazely. I am so lucky to call this adorable little sweetheart my niece! I could photograph her every day and never get bored - if only we lived close enough! She is so filled with personality and the most precious expressions (and she is the spitting image of her mama at this age)!

We were lucky enough to get to spend some time together this summer and had so much fun celebrating her 1st birthday with a special session. We even played with some magical bubbles that made smiley faces in her images - how crazy is that?!

I’m so happy that I was able to document this time in her life. These little babies really grow so fast and there is nothing more meaningful to me than being able to give families these memories!
