BABY’S FIRST BIRTHDAY AND CLASSIC FAMILY PORTRAITS

This gorgeous little girl came to the studio for a milestone session to celebrate her 1st birthday and take some family portraits! She has the sweetest parents and the most adorable Goldendoodle who came with her. Families are always welcome and encouraged to be a part of every session with their babies. I think it’s so special when clients take advantage of milestone sessions to not only document your growing baby during their first trip around the sun but to also get updated family pictures along the way! It truly is a gift for your children to have beautiful portraits of their family while they are growing up.

Mom, dad and even their pup showed up dressed perfectly and brought the sweetest outfits for the baby. I’m so in love with the precious mix of the classic white dress with the pink floral romper and the first birthday tutu – each with its own matching bow! The whole family looks like they stepped out of a magazine and their blue clothing complimented the grey linen loveseat in the studio. My client had told me that her daughter tends to be very serious in front of the camera and she was really hopeful that I would be able to capture at least one great image of her smiling. I ended up with so many smiles and wonderful expressions (along with some crazy cute serious faces too) and I couldn’t be happier with how this session turned out!

For every session I always make sure that I am getting a beautiful mix of individual images of each baby along with the family together plus images of each parent with baby so that you have a gorgeous final gallery with all of the important groupings you need. For first birthday sessions, you have the added option to include a complementary bakery-made “naked” cake during your session so that we can capture some darling “cake-smash” images for you. I keep my cake smash sessions simple and true to my style with a white cake and minimal white frosting so your gallery is cohesive and you don’t need to worry about any clothing or your baby being stained by dyes. It usually ends up being one of the most fun parts of the session watching your baby dig into their first birthday cake!
